No doubt last week’s highlight was my Fridate with the Aldabas. Ate Rizza and I initially had a hard time scheduling a sleepover during that entire week before they leave for the States, but thank God they had no other plans for their last Friday in the Philippines! I grabbed the opportunity and hanged out with Ate Rizza and Shad in, what we now know is, Robinsons Sta. Rosa (We thought we were in SM Sta. Rosa and we were extremely puzzled with the lack of traffic in the mall).
We watched Les Miserables (which by the way, is just amazing, especially my girl crush Anne Hathaway), ate at Jolibee (the last time for them before they go back to LA, where the prices from the Big Red Insect is twice the prices here), and mall-hopped (went to Pavilion and roamed around surplus shops).
Pavilion was already closing, and it’s about time to go home already, when Shad and Ate Rizza asked if I wanted to stay a little longer back in their place. Since it was their last night, and my dad gave me the go signal, I went ahead, not minding at all that there’s work early the morning after.
So I went back with them, and we hanged out in their room–very reminiscent, by the way, of circa 2004, the year they first left for the US. I was actually just being there, not even helping them pack (to my defense, they’re almost finished packing already!).
I was scanning their Boracay pictures, and noticed how few their pictures are of the entire trip, considering they stayed in the Philippine for almost a month. Last night in the country, and with a camera at hand–what else will you do?
We (or Ate Rizza) had a hard time focusing the camera, so we had many blurred timer shots. But because it’s cute, memorable, and at the same time, very hipster, we kept it anyway. Our rule? Walang burahan. (The brothers erased some at the end of the “photoshoot”, though, but I won’t go into details as to why hehe)
The next couple of shots compose my favorite timer shot series. I guess if you’ve all been away from each other for 8 years, goofily spending your time making funny faces in front of a camera makes so much sense 🙂
Last week has been weak for me when it comes to working on my monthly goals, but you know what they say (or not say): there’s always next week.
JANUARY GOALS: Week 3
